Cthulhu myths say that this being is an Ancient One, a kind of god for humans, and that he was not born on Earth, but on the planet Vhoorl. It has a squid head (with a divine tentacled beard), a dragon body, and wings. In addition, its body is not made of skin or scales, but of a kind of indestructible jelly.
Cthulhu is said to wait in the city of R'lyeh, deep in the Pacific Ocean, for his occult and sectarian colleagues (who worship him in the most religious sense of the word) wake him up with the help of a psalm.

Lovecraft has many fans, and it is no wonder. His work is one of a kind, in fact, he is considered the inventor of a whole genre, the cosmic terror, which seeks to cause horror to its readers with beings of legend older than time, food for your nightmares.
A good Cthulhu tattoo will not only just portray this primal horror with its goatee of tentacles and cruel gaze, but will try to convey that almost primal horror that Lovecraft mastered so well.
