The tattoos with ashes of our loved ones are already a reality tangible. The idea was born in a lake in Florida (United States) by the hand of Patrick Duffy and his father. They both ran a therapeutic diving program for US Army veterans. These two people got the inspiration for their project by seeing the leg of a woman with a tattoo that was a tribute to her husband, a military man who died in combat.
After a four-year development process with a group of friends, «everence». It is a product that seeks to deepen the ties - physically - between family, friends and other loved ones, even if they are no longer in the earthly world. Everence is a powder created from a DNA sampleSomething as simple as a person's hair or something as strange as cremation ashes can be turned into an Everence jar.
Subsequently, the content of said bottle is used by the tattooist to mix it with the ink we will be tattooed. It is compatible with any type of ink. The end result will be a tattoo with ashes of a human person to carry in our body the DNA of another deceased human being or that is still alive. The idea of combining ink with a person's DNA is not new, but this level of perfection and "professionalization" has never really been reached.
As we have noted above, Everence can be used in any type of tattoo ink. It will have a price of 650 dollars (550 euros) and for the moment it will only be available in the United States. And what do you think of this risky proposal? Would you get a tattoo with someone else's DNA? A priori it is somewhat macabre.
