And it's about how long a freshly made tattoo should be covered.
One day? Two? Three? Depends. That's how it is. And I will expose my personal experience that has led me to know how long I must have a freshly done tattoo covered. If the tattoo is small or medium size and you are not in a "sensitive area" more prone to infection, it will only be one day. And it is obviously from the moment we left the tattoo studio until the next morning.
The first night we will have to heal the tattoo and cover it again with transparent film to spend the first night with the tattoo covered. In this way, we will prevent the bed sheets from getting stained with ink that the skin oozes or that they can literally stick on the tattoo recently made. And trust me, it is a feeling that you will not like to experience.
But What if it is a large tattoo? If it is already a very large piece such as a half arm or a large part of the leg, it is recommended that the first two or even three nights we slept with the tattoo covered. Even so, during the day, it is best not to carry it covered in transparent film, unless we go to work and we can come into contact with dirt.
If it is the case that we have a profession in which, inevitably, we get stained with grease or any type of dirt, it is essential that during the first two weeks we work with our tattoo properly covered to avoid problems during the healing process. Therefore and to finish this article, we can say that if the tattoo is small, it is only advisable to wear it covered the first day (or at most during the first two), while if it is large, the ideal is to cover it during the two or three days following the elaboration of the tattoo.
Remember it is important that the newly made tattoo can "breathe" to promote proper healing. And the same happens when applying the cream you use for healing, if you use an excessive amount, the skin will not be able to breathe and it may lead to the tattoo not healing well.
