Since yesterday and until next May 24 the third edition of the Traditional Tattoo & World Culture Festival, an event that takes place in Calvià, Mallorca. The Santa Ponça fairgrounds host this important event until this date, which throughout its three editions has become a benchmark within the international tattoo culture.
At festival meets for eight days tribal and modern culture, music, art and tattoo. Although it is mainly focused on the art of tattoo more traditional and associated with indigenous tribal cultures. During the days that the event will last more than 6.000 visitors are expected to a fair in which the best tattoo artists of the moment will meet and in which all kinds of activities related to body art have been programmed.
There will be exhibitions, conferences, seminars, documentary screenings, music and dance. The III Traditional Tattoo & World Culture Festival will have the presence of Dr. Lars Krutak, one of the world's greatest authorities on the anthropology of indigenous tattoo practices. There will also be a charity auction with works that the artists donate in favor of ASDICA (Association of people with disabilities of Calvià) and APNAB Gaspar Hauser (Association of Parents of Autistic Children of the Balearic Islands).
About 200 artists, of all styles and origins will gather at this fair in Calvià, making the small Mallorcan town the world capital of tattoos for a few days.
