Tattoos at home, the risk of just looking at the price

Tattoo at home

One of the topics that has been dealt with in the Only Tattoo Barcelona 2019 that has been celebrated this past weekend has been that of the tattoos at home. Also called «home tattoos», Have proliferated in recent times. More and more people are putting the price and comfort of not having to leave home when it comes to getting a tattoo.

As the tattoo professionals who have gathered at the aforementioned event have commented, this type of practice carries a huge risk. And not only for the possible result of the tattoo, but for everything that surrounds the process of making a tattoo. Are tattoos at home recommended? Although we do not doubt that there are true professionals in body art who dedicate themselves to going to the home of their clients to do the tattoos, the truth is that they are not recommended.

Tattoo at home

First of all, we must bear in mind all the sanitary and hygienic regulations that they require to be in force and that any tattoo studio must comply with. It is not enough to use gloves and other disposable items for single use. The entire tattoo production area must comply with standards that, logically, do not occur in a private home that has nothing to do with the world of tattoos beyond their passion for tattooing.

And we must not only keep in mind everything related to hygiene and health. To make a tattoo correctly we must have a properly lit area and an armchair / stretcher in which the person to be tattooed can get into a comfortable position and which, in turn, favors the elaboration of the tattoo itself. In short, can you get a tattoo at the home of a private person? Yes, is it the right thing to do? Not.
