I still remember as if it were yesterday the day when I finally decided to go to a tattoo studio to make an appointment for what it would be, my first tattoo. After meditating and thinking about it, I was ready to mark my skin for life. Five years later, I still have not forgotten those days when everything was new to me, the noise of the tattoo machine, the pain of the needle piercing the skin and all the paraphernalia that surrounds the process of making a tattoo.
To this day, I have practically one arm completely tattooed while the first tattoo has already fallen on the other. And I would like to comment on this in this kind of personal reflection, on whether after the first tattoo, the rest «They come rolled». Although there are some people who only get a tattoo, the truth is that most of them end up repeating.
What is the reason that leads people to mark their skin for a second, third or fourth time? The fact of getting a tattoo is, among other things, having to make a very deep and personal decision that will mark us (pun intended) for life. And although today tattoos can be completely removed thanks to laser technology, it continues to be assumed that they will last a lifetime.
Either to convey a message or remind ourselves of a certain memory or past stage of our lives, tattoos may or may not have meaning, is something we have already discussed. But they will have something else that many people end up repeating. And as you well know (if you have ever gotten a tattoo), it is a whole process through which its ultimate goal is to mark something on our skin.
