The roots
The roots are symbolic signs of a connection to the past. They can be represented in a deep and even invisible way. The roots can indicate that the tattooed person is connected to their past, their ancestors or their family. They can also show that the person feels strong in life.
Leaves
The daughters of the tree can signify growth and rebirth when they fall and put new leaves. Instead they can also represent the fading of things, of how you go from old to new. The size and color of the leaf are also important because if they are fresh the new growth is shown but if they are brown and deciduous leaves they represent the accumulation of the years. Fall color represents maturity and growth. Decaying leaves can spell death.
Flowers
The flowers represent everything related to women and sexual awakening. The flowers also signify innocence, virginity, tranquility or spring. The flowers are visual reminders of nature's bounty, of beauty and love.
Bare branches
The bare branches are like the unadorned arms and represent people. In the bare branches you can feel the cold and darkness of winter. Represents the desire for peace or the wanting to repair a broken relationship.
