Grandparents with tattoos: a fantastic reality

Grandparents with tattoos

One of the comments that most of us who wear tattoos hear (or suffer) is the eternal and tiresome "And will you be one of those grandparents with tattoos? ". At first, I tried to give a coherent answer, in which I tried not to offend my interlocutor and kindly explain to him that precisely when I am a granny (if I arrive) it will be when I look at my tattoos with more affection.

It is clear that if you are in this blog you do not have to be convinced of anything, but, in case it is useful when responding to the pesky ones who believe that to be a "good" grandfather you have to go to the nines (literally), we have prepared a couple of responses to leave them with the word in the mouth.

Our vision of tattoos is purely cultural

Clearly If we consider that grandparents with tattoos are not politically correct, it is due to the influence of culture and the society in which we live. In some cultures (and you don't have to go very far) it is not at all uncommon to see grandmothers and grandfathers with tattoos that look shamelessly (it would be missing more!).

Grandparents with tattoos to power

The world is constantly changing. A few years ago it was almost unthinkable to think that tattoos would be available to everyone and that they would cease to be related to certain elements on the outskirts of society. Luckily all of this is changing and tattoos are gaining more and more acceptance in all levels of society, even in grandparents.

Recently, my friend Jane said that she had gone to get a tattoo and that in another room there was a grandmother getting tattooed his favorite Glenn Miller album. There is no age to join the tattoo club!

The future belongs to grandparents with tattoos

This is nonsense, but it is nonetheless less true: The grandparents with tattoos of tomorrow are the tattooed ladies and gentlemen of today, and we are more and more! With what, thirty years from now, it will not be at all strange to see grandparents with tattoos (and we will be the ones who will be the coolest!).
