There are two main types of machines of tattooing: the coil and the machine rotary tattoo. However, if you are not an expert you may not know how to differentiate them.
That is why we have prepared this article, It never hurts to be well informed!
How do the two machines work?
Two different machines, the same result, but two different methods to achieve it. That is, the operation of the coil and rotary machines is the same (move the needles up and down so that they enter and leave the skin, where they deposit the ink) but it is achieved in different ways. In the case of coil machines, an electromagnetic current passes through the coils and sets the needles in motion. Instead, rotary machines have a built-in motor, which moves the needles up and down.
What is the difference between them?
Although the results are similar, and the result is practically the same, the two machines have quite a few differences between them.
- All the coil tattoo machines are immediately recognizable by their vibration, similar to a buzz (if your tattooing experience was very noisy, it is that they did it with this machine). In contrast, the rotaries are much quieter.
- La rotary tattoo machine tattoo more fluently.
- In addition, the rotary, with different needles, can handle both the outlining and the filling and the shading of the tattoo. In the case of coil machines it is not possible.
- Coil machines, however, inject more ink into the skin, which is very useful for intense shading.
- Finally, rotary machines weigh much less than coil machinesThat is why they are easier to use (and the tattoo artist does not end up with a so tired hand).
We hope this article on the rotary tattoo machine and the coil tattoo machine has been helpful to you. Tell us, did you know these two types of machines? Let us know in the comments!
